Armand's style is rooted in his love of Nebraska. His favorite way of enjoying Nebraska is from a bicycle seat; it's more being part of the countryside than watching it go by from a car window. He's done week-long bicycle tours with the Bike Ride Across Nebraska, RAGBRAI (Ride Across Iowa) and others for over twenty years. Many of his published note card drawings were made on those bicycle rides. Armand received his bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1971. Before retiring from Offutt in 2005 he founded Prairie Breeze Graphics to publish his work and the work of other artists needing a forum. Prairie Breeze note cards and prints are available at the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument near Kearney, NE, the Dundee Gallery, Village Stationery and Old Market Sundries, all in Omaha, Nebraska, and the permanent GROW Nebraska Store in Kearney at the Hilltop Mall.
