Omaha's Old Market district consists of renovated warehouses, wholesale distribution centers and industry. The Old Market now is home to up-scale gift shops, trendy apartments and lofts, restaurants and pubs. Armand's drawings beautifully capture the essence and atmosphere of the area. Depicted in the note card set are the Old Market's original street lights, 10th and Howard (the eastern edge of the Old Market district), a second-story window in the "Passageway," once an alley between two buildings, and now an enclosed, cleaned and decorated area of store fronts and a restaurant. The "Old Market Corner" and "Street Lights Along Howard" note card drawings capture other outstanding features of the Old Market.
