Sandhills Crane drawing

"Sandhills Crane"
Prints...catalog #: NWB3

A half million Sandhills Cranes pass through a 75-mile stretch of the Platte River during their spring migration. Sandhills Cranes are grayish to whit6e, but may appear rusty brown from preening with iron-rich mud. They originate in Alaska and Canada and migrate to Mexico, southern Texas and Florida for the winter. Armand drew this one on the banks of the Platte River.

Sandhills Cranes' mating dance involves throwing grass and sticks into the air, loud cackling calls, flapping wings and erect postures with their heads thrown back.

Prairie Breeze offers this drawing in the Nebraska Wetlands Birds set of notecards as well as individual double matted prints or framed and double matted prints.
